The city of Calistoga hosted a ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate its purchase of the 71-acre Fairgrounds property from the County. The transaction became official on Monday and marked the end to years of negotiations surrounding the land ownership. City directors and elected officials (pictured), along with roughly 200 cheerful residents, were present for the event, which took place at the Tubbs Building. Napa County Supervisor Anne Cottrell presented Calistoga Mayor Donald Williams with a decorative key and a ring of actual keys to the property buildings. Photo by Clark James Mishler
